September 2009 - Tractors to the Seaside
2O72 0909 Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth
and 2V67 1655 return were booked for haulage by 37670 and 37401 instead of the
usual 67. Two shots in sun, the first at Bathampton where I was one of only two
photographers who opted for the shot east of the usual overbridge that was
supporting about 25 other photographers, then a slightly backlit effort at Clink
followed by a third shot at Blatchbridge which wasn't in sun (but I have done a
digi-razz up on it). The day collapsed after this, and none of my pictures of
the return are worth publishing on this site as taken because they are all 800asa 'why am I
bothering' type pictures. I have however included a few which I have 'artistically'
manipulated.

September 2009 - Posh Skip
A last minute tip off saw me make a move to
Swain Street bridge in Leicester for 67008 on a Chesterfield to London Victoria
VSOE working.

September 2009 - Cumbria
A day in Cumbria for Spitfire
Railtour's 'Cumbrian Coaster' railtour. Also managed to pull in a few other
bits including a shot on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Also ended up in
Blackpool on the way home for a refreshment break and watched all three
illuminated trams go out onto the prom without their lights on :-(

September 2009 - Large Logo Tractor Charter
At last a photo charter at the GCR with top
liveried tractor 37314, but would the sun shine? Of course it would! The Class
40 Appeal's 37314 was used at the head of a rake of ballast wagons recreating
scenes from the 1980's.
The day began cloudy and overcast, but the forecast promised better things
later, and thankfully the weathermen were right, and the afternoon session saw us get sunny
shots at several locations. Once we had finished with the day shoot, we staged a
short night shoot by the pegs at Beeches Road using another of the Class 40
Appeal's locos, 50007 'Sir Edward Elgar'.
Thanks to the Class 40 Appeal for letting us use their locos, the GCR staff and
volunteers, the photographers who supported the event and the EMRPS team who
helped me to run the event and light the night shoot.

September 2009 - O4
Not much doing today, all I managed was a
sunny shot of O4 63601 at Kinchley Lane.

September 2009 - Crich Tramway Museum
Lots of blue sky to the north of Leicester,
so I headed towards it and ended up at Crich where Southampton 45, Blackpool 40,
London 1622 and Berlin 3006 were in action.

September 2009 - HS1
My first attempt at photting Eurostars
motoring along at 180(ish) mph on HS1 near Ashford.
