Loco number 9 'Prince of Wales' in British Rail blue livery passes over the trestle bridge at Llanbadarn with the 1400 Aberystwyth to
Devil's Bridge service on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. This railway remained part of British Rail until 1989 and the three locomotives that
operated the line were repainted into British Rail blue livery complete with the double arrow logo. Initially, this was a plain blue with a
white stick on BR logo beneath the nameplates, but later, a lined version with a cast BR logo was introduced. Until 2025, none of the three
locos had carried BR blue, but number 9 was outshopped in the lined version, and very good it looks too. Once I heard that one had been
painted, I booked a week long holiday in the area to try and get a few pictures. This was my first attempt shortly after I had arrived.
