Two trains of Piccadilly Line 1973 Tube
Stock pass each other to the west of Sudbury Town. The keen eyed will notice a
difference in
the appearance of the two driving motors facing the camera. All Piccadilly Line
1973 Tube Stock trains are made up of two 3-car units
coupled together to make a 6-car train. The majority of units only have a cab at
one end as per the train on the left, but there are a few
that are double ended with a cab at each end of the 3-car unit. The train on the
right is a double ended unit and has what appears to be
'fins' along the two corners of the cab. These are fixings for inter-car
barriers and are used when that cab is burried in the middle of a
6-car train.
