Blackpool Trams 2010
In 2010, the tramway only operated between Pleasure Beach and Ash Street (Fisherman's Walk) in Fleetwood, although there was no service north of Cleveleys until July. Despite the reduction in length and subsequent reduction in the number of trams required to maintain the service, it turned out to be a very interesting year. A Thornton Gate service was introduced in place of the Cleveleys service during the main season, and this service often featured twin cars. In September, the tramway celebrated its 125th anniversary and several enthusiast events were organised around this, including the use of visiting tramcars from Crich, Birkenhead, Heaton Park and Beamish. Work on the tramway upgrade continued and throughout the year, platforms for the new trams started to appear in a number of locations.
