9016's return mainline test run is seen flying through Tamworth on the down fast running as 1Z44 11.30 Rugby to Lancaster. This test
run was deemed a success and the loco was approved for mainline use, its first tour being from Crewe to Scarborough just over a week
later (by which time its paintwork had been touched up).
